"The artist is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of the tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Higherford Mill Exhibition

I spent yesterday over at Higherford Mill in Barrowford, near Colne hanging the Up North Printmakers exhibition along with Jamie Barnes and Pete Marsh. An enjoyable afternoon and we completed the work and tided up just in time for the opening and private view. The exhibition runs over two weekends; 8th and 9th and then the 15th and 16th September from 10-4 each day. A diverse exhibition of original printmaking with etchings, linocuts, woodblock, collograph, monoprints and mezzotints. Featuring the work of Jamie Barnes, Anita Burrows, Pete Marsh. Lisa  Moore, Julie Robinson-Southwood, Anna Tosney, Debbie Williams and myself. In a lovely setting in an old cotton mill nestling beneath Pendle Hill, converted into artists studios with an exhibition space in the centre.
