"The artist is also a born adventurer. His explorations, unlike those of the tourist, are rewarded by the discovery of beauty spots unmentioned in the guide books, and with tireless curiosity and an exceptional proneness to wonderment, he will come upon objects of remarkable interest overlooked or even shunned by more disciplined observers."

Lunar

After some reworking of the plate I'm finally happy with the new mezzotint of the full moon. My initial intention was to show the full face of the moon brilliantly lit against the soft black background. This however just looked flat without any impression of a globe shape. So I re-rocked the right hand side of the plate (the left side of the print) to darken it, and when I wiped the plate after inking left some plate tone here to further darken the edge. Although not how I had originally planned this print to look I'm much happier with the result.
